Since this site is a work in progress I'd really value constructive criticisms and suggestions - please submit yours via the 'Add new comment' link below.
Nice one! I'm very new to After Effects (have been using it for a few months as part of my course) so have been looking around for a resource like this. It's a bit sparse but given that it's just launched I guess it's to be expected. Still, I really like the many ways I can find what I'm looking for.
@Frogmeena - I'm not sure that a forum would be such a good idea, I think it's better to tie the conversations to the actual expression submissions.
Finally, I feel that XLab could be really useful but not sure whether the current configuration would work for me. But I really like the idea of something like this.
Thanks for the feedback so far, it's very much appreciated.
With regard to setting up a forum, it's certainly not a problem but there's already a forum out there, namely AEenhancers - I'm not sure that having a second forum would necessarily benefit the community. Having said that, I'm happy to wait and see what everyone thinks... like I say, it's easily implemented on the site.
I love it, thanks very much. Alas I can't do much in the way of submitting content as I am just starting out with After Effects but I guess that's why this site is here, to help people like me.
You asked for suggestions - I think a forum would be really useful.
I too think is all the aspects of this site are great but agree with Thomas - filling up the site will be very important. Maybe is there another way of doing this other than the suggestion in your invite e-mail?
But I really like this site - fingers crossed, I really want it to work.
I'm currently contacting "serial" scripters with a view to digging their expressions out of the AE list archives. I would then be in a position to submit this content on their behalf (following their approval), thereby taking the slog work out of it for the authors.
yes, it's a good start. You are right, there are other sites like this out there but none of them seem to get very busy and do not have much in the archives. I guess populating (or pre-populating) the site is always going to be a problem, to reach the critical threshold where a site like this really comes into its own. I will certainly pass the word around.
Also, I very much like the community aspects of your site and the fact that you are wanting to drive it as a community site (at least that is my understanding from what I have seen here). I hope it works out. I will certainly check in regularly though as I am not a scripter (is that the word?) I won't be uploading anything... but may be downloading:-)
Good initiative; I think the more quality AE scripting and use sites there better. I think it's looking very good so far you site; I'm sure I'd come back to it next time I do some AE work and need any script examples etc.
I've not got any changes suggestion yet; but I can say I do like the site and I like the scriptorium Logo design; very neat!

Other ideas/suggestions would be welcome.
