Help

HelpThis page will, eventually, display content relating to the use of this site. For now there is a brief list of what's possible

Contributing stuff:
First of all, you need to be registered in order to submit stuff. Once you're registered you can submit items via the "Contribute Stuff" menu in the left-hand sidebar.

Submitting is straightforward and all fields are clearly labelled.

In addition to submitting expressions and other AE content, you can also submit your biography, website and showreel. This option becomes available in your user menu (in the left hand sidebar) once you have submitted an expression, preset, script or project file. Random author's biographies are displayed in the right-hand sidebar under the "Meet The Authors" heading.

Finding stuff:
This is pretty easy - the home page (click on the XScriptorium logo) allows you to view content by filtering according to content type, newest submissions, Top Ranked Submissions, Alphabetical list and Tag cloud (keywords associated with content).

When you are not on the home page, you can go directly to these different views by accessing the "Find Stuff" menu, which will be available in the left hand sidebar.

Tipping:
Once you have submitted an item the site will automatically recognise you as an "author" which will enable you to set up your TipJoy button functionality via your account page - simply click the "edit" tab and scroll down to find the TipJoy section. You'll find further instructions there.

Currently there is not much content that shows the TipJoy button as very little of the content is actually mine - you can view my one submission here.

XLab and Stubs:
XLab is an attempt to enable user collaboration on expressions and scripts. It is extremely basic at this point but I am hoping that the audience will help steer this in the right direction through suggestions and feedback.

Watched posts
When you view a submission you will notice a link at the bottom - "You are not watching this post, click to start watching". This enables you to easily keep track of comments submitted to a post - your watched posts list allows you to enable "notifications" which will send you an e-mail everytime a comment is posted.
